4 Corners, Bahia: Lunch Done Right

Boardwalk Eats and Daily Life

I just had the best lunch deal in the heart of Bahia, at a little spot called 4 Corners. It’s tucked right between the municipal building and the plant shop, directly across from the Bank of Pichincha.

Fried Fish

$3.00 Lunch Special

Steak
Soup that came with the lunch special – Fish Viche

The best part is the lunch special—for just $3, you get a fresh juice, a hearty soup, and a main plate. They don’t have a fixed menu, so each day you get to choose between two homemade options. Today I couldn’t decide, so I tried both: one was fried fish and the other was steak, each served with rice and a salad.

The soup of the day was a coastal Ecuadorian favorite: fish viche, made with a rich peanut base. Let me tell you, that soup alone could fill you up—it was delicious, and the fish in it was tender and flaky.

If you go, grab a table up front. You can sit back, enjoy your meal, and watch the busy street life pass by. Definitely add 4 Corners to your lunch rotation—it’s a total steal.

Why Everyone Lines Up for 50-Cent Sandwiches in Bahia

‘m not kidding—50-cent sandwiches are a real thing here in Bahia. Just a couple of streets over, across from the main market and butcher shops, there’s a tiny stand serving up incredible pork or chicken sandwiches with fresh homemade salsa.

They’re made on small, soft rolls baked right here in town—about half the size of a hotdog bun. If you’re just looking for a snack, one will do the trick, but if you’re really hungry, you’ll want to grab three or four.

Word is clearly out, because the place stays busy. Especially the pork sandwiches—they tend to sell out fast. So if you spot one, don’t wait around.

Smart investment alert: This property is a money-maker!

Fresh Picudo, Fresh Ceviche
